Your board-certified dermatologist will cleanse the treatment area, apply a cool gel to your skin, and use a handheld device to deliver pulses of light to the treatment areas. You may feel some mild discomfort or warming of the skin during treatment. Treatments are relatively quick, lasting only 5-15 minutes; however, these times vary based on the size of the treatment area. Photo facial results after one treatment may produce some redness, swelling, or mild discomfort in the treated area. These are normal and temporary side effects that should subside within a few hours or days – applying an ice pack to the treated area will help soothe any discomfort. You will be instructed to avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen to protect your skin from further damage.
